Blizzard has released a series of hotfixes for World of Warcraft on 11 February 2025, aimed at improving various aspects of the game across different versions, including The War Within, Cataclysm Classic, Season of Discovery, WoW Classic Era, and Hardcore. Here's a breakdown of the changes:
Love in the Air Event
Earth players: Can now complete the Love Yourself, Your Way quest by enjoying Rock Candy Packs at the Gift Gala.
Season of Discovery
World Buffs: The cost of consumables and reputation items has been reduced by 50%, with a new stacking limit of 20 for these items.
Scourge Invasions: Now respawn at a more consistent rate, regardless of server level.
Blood of Heroes: Plaguelands spawn rates have been adjusted to reflect the new cost of tier 3 set rings.
Enriched Manna Biscuits: Now provide health regeneration based on a percentage within Naxxramas to better balance with large health pools.
Violet Satchel Quest: Corrected the item to consume correctly upon completion.
Karazhan Crypts Updates
Dark Rider: An issue where the Dark Rider would despawn during the Torment's Illusion mechanic has been fixed, ensuring a smoother experience for players taking on this challenging boss.
Sairuh Maryla's Frostbolt Volley: The tooltip on this ability's debuff now accurately reflects its effect. In addition, the slow effect of Frostbolt Volley now applies consistently to players regardless of their distance from the caster, making positioning and movement strategies more predictable.
Kharon:
The Red Death: This boss can no longer hit targets under mind control, which could disrupt crowd control strategies.
Naxxramas Improvements
Pet Mechanics:
Several boss encounters have been adjusted to reduce the need for excessive pet micromanagement.
Teacher Razuvious & Heigan: Their abilities, such as Distracting Shout and Mana Burn, are now affected by pet avoidance, reducing unnecessary pet deaths.
Kel'Thuzad: Void Fissures will bypass pets, focusing the challenge on player positioning rather than pet management.
Sapphiron: Both Frost Aura and Frost Breath respect pet avoidance, making these fights less punishing for pet classes.
Boss specific changes:
Gothik the Harvester: Health tweaks to both Gothik and his summons make this fight more accessible, especially for parties still learning the encounter mechanics.
The Four Horsemen: Horsemen Spirits will no longer remain active after a raid reset, eliminating potential repeat spawn bugs.
Sapphiron: Greater clarity on how Avoidance affects Frost Aura, allowing players to better strategise around the mechanic.
Class specific changes
Druid
Restoration: The tier 3 2-piece set bonus will now proc every few seconds instead of every time you take damage, improving healing consistency.
Hunter
Melee Set:The 6-piece effect of the Hunter melee set now disables when a ranged attack is made. Hunters can exchange their melee tier 3 items for ranged items from Hunter Leopold until 13 February.
Item recovery:Players can now recover a previously deleted Infernal Lasso from the Lost and Found vendor in Booty Bay.
Mage
Healing:The tier 3 2-piece bonus for Mage Healing now scales properly with Sanctified gear in Naxxramas.
Mass Regeneration has been fixed to prevent longer duration Temporal Beacons from being replaced with shorter duration ones, ensuring sustainable support.
Paladin
Seal of Martyrdom:The correct amount of mana will now be restored outside of Naxxramas when the Seal of Dawn buff is active.
Vengeance:The tier 3 4-piece set bonus will no longer reset your swing timer when Holy Fury is cast, maintaining your attack rhythm.
Holy:The tier 3 2-piece bonus now correctly restores mana to the Paladin when using Lay on Hands, not to the target.
Protection:The tier 3 4-piece bonus now correctly applies to the Malleable Protection version of Divine Protection.
Rogue
Damage:The tier 3 2-set bonus increases Backstab damage by 10%, up from 5%.
Shaman
Restoration:The tier 3 helm now correctly includes Spell Haste.
The tier 3 2-piece bonus no longer removes the internal cooldown of Earth Shield, balancing healing output.
Tank:The tier 3 4-piece bonus now provides an additional 10% damage reduction, down from 15%, to better balance survivability.
Warlock
Tank:The tier 2.5 4-part bonus removes the effects of Demonic Sacrifice when summoning a different type of demon.
The cooldown reduction on Demonic Grace from the tier 3 4-piece bonus is now 3 seconds, down from 10.
The cooldown reduction on Infernal Armour from the same set bonus is now 10 seconds, down from 30, adjusting for tanking.
